The Township of Millburn is located in Essex CountyNew Jersey, approximately ten miles west of Newark and twenty miles west of Midtown Manhattan.  Millburn was created from portions of Springfield Township by act of the New Jersey legislature on March 20, 1857.  Present day Millburn is home to a population of more than 20,000 residents who appreciate the laidback suburban lifestyle and rotating seasonal climate that graces the region with hot summers, cold snowy winters, and lovely weather during spring and fall.

Millburn Township is home to a number of recreation and entertainment opportunities, including the Paper Mill Playhouse, a regional theater in the tradition of Broadway that is home to the New Jersey Ballet.  Other venues of interest are South Mountain Reservation, a 2,000-plus acre park featuring hiking trails that include the 34-mile Lenape Trail, and the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary, a 16-acre expanse of parkland that features a variety of tree species, ferns, and wildflowers, as well as walking paths and trails for hiking.

Millburn’s convenient location offers easy access to destinations in New Jersey, Manhattan Island, and New York City.  Transportation amenities include bus and train service to Midtown Manhattan via the New Jersey Transit Authority, as well as major travel routes that include CR 510, CR 527, State Route 24, State Route 124, and I-78.
